Register with a GP as a De Montfort University student
If you are studying at De Montfort University and living in Leicester during term time, you may want to register with a local NHS GP practice. De Montfort Surgery is part of Willows Health and provides NHS GP services in Leicester.
Registration is completed through the official NHS GP registration service at gp-registration.nhs.uk. When you choose to register, you will be taken to that NHS service to complete your registration. Registration is not guaranteed and the practice will review your request.
Why register with a local GP while studying?
- Access to NHS GP services while living in Leicester during term time.
- Support with repeat prescriptions.
- Help managing ongoing health conditions.
- Easier access to referrals and test results.
- Registering before you become unwell can help avoid delays.
Can I stay registered with my GP at home?
You can usually only be registered with one NHS GP practice at a time. If you spend most of the year in Leicester, registering with a local GP may make it easier to access NHS GP services while you are studying.
