Willows Health achieves CQC rating of 'Outstanding' for being responsive to patient needs
Overview
Willows Health's 10 surgeries provide innovative care to over 45,000 patients across Leicester and Loughborough. With CQC ratings of 'good' and 'outstanding' across all sites, patients benefit from advanced services including dermatology, musculoskeletal, ENT and gynaecology — avoiding long hospital waits.
Pioneering services and treatment
Willows Health is recruiting paediatric specialists for under-18s care. Practices have access to consultant geriatricians, skilled nurses and allied healthcare professionals. Many surgeries are open during weekends for specialist services including NHS heart checks, sexual health screenings, women's contraception and general gynaecology. Near-patient testing is being expanded to provide same-day results for blood tests.
The future of healthcare
During the pandemic, Willows Health ran a hot hub service offering GP appointments to patients from other practices. They trialled a Covid-antibody treatment — local patients accessed cutting-edge treatment before anyone else in the world. The research evidence was noted as important by the National Institute for Health Research.
"We think that providing good care isn't just for the present, but for years to come as well. It's about looking at our future staff and patients and trying to help them as much as possible too." — Professor Rishabh Prasad, Chairman of Willows Health
