Register with a local GP practice

It is important to register with a GP practice near where you live. This means you can get help when you are unwell, order repeat prescriptions and access NHS services.

If you take regular medication

If you take regular medication, register as soon as possible so there is time to review your repeat prescriptions.

Your pharmacy may need extra time to dispense medication. Please do not wait until you have run out.

Registering children or babies

If you have children, you can register them with a GP practice too. Babies should be registered as soon as possible after birth.

After you register

After your registration is submitted, the practice may review your details and contact you if more information is needed.

You can use the NHS App to access some NHS services, order repeat prescriptions and view parts of your GP health record.
